St. Patrick’s Day Comment Contest – Closed

Alright, y’all, one of my favorite holidays is coming up: St. Patrick’s Day!! Y’all better wear green and drink some Guinness. But don’t worry, because if you don’t you can be sure that I will. Anyway, it’s time to have this month’s contest and thanks to Duque Cigars, we’ve got a great prize for you.
Up for grabs this month is a 5-pack of Rocky Patel Decade Toros and a Rocky Patel torch lighter. I know a bunch of you are RP fans. Anyway, we’ll change things up a little bit in this comment contest. The winner will be the person who has the most comments in this post by 11:59 CST on St. Patrick’s Day 2009.
Here’s the rules:
- You cannot post consecutive comments. There must always be at least one comment from another user between your comments.
- You cannot post the same comment. The content must be different each time and at least three words. Comments don’t have to be cigar related, but should at least make some kinda sense.
- Any pingbacks/trackbacks from bloggers count as a comment
- Contest is open to those 18 or older only.
That’s it. Now, you have just a little over a week to get as many comments in here as you can within the rules to win this great prize. Be sure to thank Duque Cigars for putting up the prize by checking them out.

Nice idea! Let’s have some fun
thanks to all the troop supporter programs out there and to those that take the time to make it possible for us to enjoy some of the simple pleasures in life like cigar smoking while being away from our family & friends…”freedom isn’t free”
So what’s your comment # goal?
Does everyone have a St. Patrick’s Day cigar picked out? Mine will be an Erin Go Bragh. I can stomach the flavored taste (which isn’t really bad) over any candela.
St. Patrick’s Day is also my father-in-law-to-be’s birthday so I’ll probably go with something good. Cabaiguan Maduro maybe.
Excellent idea. Love the RP stogies. Anyone have a link to the story behind the vintage line? I heard it once but forgot, and was trying to explain it to a friend and sounded like an idiot.
Oh, this should be fun!
I think the “some kinda sense” clause might get tested a little in the waning hours of St. Paddy’s day. Should be fun to watch though!
Look forward to seeing this pan out–
Jason is here… we have a winner!
I’m quickly becoming hooked on the Ambos Mundos Habano. Great everyday cigar.
I am not sure I want to know what avatar the site used above. It looks like that photo of the fat kid that has a shirt that reads “will f#ck on the first date”.
Enjoying a Sancho Panza Molinos
As someone of Irish descent, I really get pissed off when I see places advertising “Irish Beer Pong” tournaments for St. Patrick’s day. Yeah, the Irish like to drink, but seeing graphics of drunk leprechauns all the time gets annoying. Ireland also produced some of the greatest writers in the English language, and probably the greatest novel in the language, James Joyce’s Ulysses.
I can’t help but agree. Somethings should not be mixed…such as anything that involves coordination on St Patty’s day.
Sadly, it’s usually just a reason for students to get drunk (very close to the Beaujolais nouveau night), at least in my part of the world
I’ll tip a few pints and some Bushmill’s too, but beer pong? Yesh. If you need a game to drink, you’re doing it wrong.
We have a parade downtown every year, which is by an irish pub. The sad thing is, there are nights they can’t justify it being open past 10pm, but that one day of the year, you can’t move in there.
Might have a little bit more business the rest of the year if they allowed cigar smoking, but that is just my opinion.
Can’t wait to drink some beer
Looks like we might have decent weather in my neck of the woods. Hi of 60 and sunny. Last year, rain and barely above freezing. Ugh, that sucked!!
Smoking an Ambos Mundos Habano robusto. Again.
Smoking an Ambos Mundo Sumatra robusto.
The coffee I’m drinking is pairing up nicely. A good morning cigar I think.
With St. Patty’s day coming up it’s time to examine some beer options. Guinness is too obvious. I’ll so some research and come up with something better.
Hmmm dinner is planned, now to take a peak in the humidor and figure out the rest of the night.
Checking out the new JpseL Pedra line–not to bad and not a bad price –
Missed out on a box of El Triunfador on the devil site for $180. Damn.
Happy 311 day everyone. If that isn’t your thing, 6 more days until everyone is Irish. At least in spirit.
I didn’t even think about it being 311 day. I missed out on it when it was in Memphis a few years ago.
They aren’t even playing today. Kinda weak. What’s next Dropkick Murphy not playing on St Patrick’s Day??
Wow, 30 comments already. Good job.
Now we have 31—need to smoke something!
Time to go bowling….and pick out a couple cigars for the “fun”.
I’m about to move into the garage to smoke a couple cigars. I’ll update you with what i select.
I ended up taking an Oliva O with me….first time I had ever seen this. The wrapper AND the binder was cracked halfway up. Every time I drew on it, smoke would come out of the crack. Still smoked “ok” and burnt just a little uneven.
Got mauled by the Cigar Monster today. Evil, evil monster that empties my wallet.
My day is coming next week. What did you pick up?
The weather is finally warm here, I will be able to enjoy more smokes outside!
I have had a couple nice days here, but nothing consistent. This is always the longest time of the year….it is like mother nature is just teasing us. Next week for St Patty’s high of 70. Now that I can live with.
I really just want to go sit at the B&M today, but I’ve got to do housework first.
I need a shark or 2–thats what I need!
Housework is done, but now it’s snowing and icing. Don’t want to make the 45 minute drive in that nonsense on Friday the 13th.
Looking to smoke something for St. patty’s day–
I am appx 25 minutes away from my first cigar of the night. Been a crazy week and I am ready to stick a fork in it.
I guess I’m a bit late in joining in the game, but I’ll gladly throw my hat in the ring for this contest. Good onya!
Got two cigars in this weekend. First was a Camacho Scorpion. Great smoke. Ash was fantastic on it. Lasted close to 3″. Second was a Cabaiguan Maduro. Don’t remember the size. Around corona gorda I think. Just gorgeous. Very chocolaty.
I have a Camacho Scorpion just waiting to be smoked. I think I’ll do it today since I’m off work.
CAO Gold and a Alec Bradley Tempus. What has everyone got lined up for tomorrow?
I have been listening to Dropkick Murphys all morning…
Dropkick Murphys and the Pogues will be on the playlist tomorrow. Cigar wise, thinking Erin Go Bragh and some Iguanas….jk. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. Thinking something from DPG will go good after my corned beef dinner.
I got ahead of myself, which I usually do. Those were my weekend cigars. Still deciding on tomorrow….what to do, what to do. What goes good with Guinness?
Thoughts, ponders? Bueller?
I’d pair Guiness with something with loads of coffee flavor. Something with a Sumatra maybe.
I have a couple javas in a humidor. I like the way you think!
Trying to decide what would go best after a big meal of corned beef brisket, boiled potatoes, and cornbread. Oliva Serie V sounds good, but I’m out of those, except for 2 Maduros which I”m not touching. Cabaiguan maybe?
The eyesson I should win them is I love the rocky petel cigars, and can’t buy them where I live. That’s 4 the cigars in advance
Then I should win them is I love the rocky petel cigars, and can’t buy them where I live. That’s 4 the cigars in advance
Happy st patty’s day everyone. And for those purists, don’t forget your Irish blue!
What’s an Irish 7 course meal?
Six pack and a potato.
Just got finished up with our parade here. Now that sounds like a good way to go for lunch…
Lunch was cornbeef and potatoes. So is dinner. Difference is this time I can have a beer and then a cigar or 4 afterward.
Smoking a Partagas Lonesdale and drinking some Samuel Adams.
Smoking a Camacho Cajones
smoking a La Riqueza
This Cajones is amazing. Chief Hava really has a nice smoke on his hands.
The Beer is gone, the cigar is almost finished. Another great St. Patrick’s day.
Contemplating cigar #2, if I have time. La Gloria Cubana Artesanos de Miami is a possibility.
I can’t wait to try a Cajones myself. Sounds like a great cigar
Had to pass on the second cigar. The Bushmills 1608 made me tired.
Nording for me tonight…always money.
