Cigar Rights of America – Redeux

I first posted about Cigar Rights of America (CRA) back in June 2008 and it’s time to post about them again. Cigar Command is a member of CRA, but I feel that I haven’t done my part to make it more visible. First, CRA is an organization of cigar smokers for cigar smokers. Call it our own little lobby.  It’s a group of cigar smokers that work to fight the incessant smoking laws that are popping up everywhere.

If you haven’t been to their site, you need to check it out at www.cigarrights.org. They post cigar related news from around the nation including the different bans and proposals that are going up everywhere. They also have an area called Viewpoints where regular people write in their opinions about what’s going on and what they’re doing and can get posted on their site.  Of course they also have an area for cigar smokers to send in photos to be shared with the rest of the cigar smoking world.

So, what’s so important about CRA?  Well, it’s time for cigar smokers to have a united voice in the fight against smoking bans and anti-smoking legislation.  That’s what CRA provides for us.  I’ve noticed many of my local shops are now displaying CRA signs and are members of CRA, so the word is getting out, but it’s got to grow.  I need you guys to get the word out too.  If your local B&M isn’t a CRA member, ask them why.  If you’re not a CRA member, why not?

Personal memberships for a year is $35.  That’s barely the cost of a decent 5-pack of cigars.  For that, you help CRA fight anti-smoking legislation and help them be our united voice that stands against a nation who is trying to get rid of our small pleasure in life.  And, unfortunately, they’re succeeding.  So, come on everyone, let’s do our part to get the work out about CRA.  Let your local shops know about CRA.  Get all your smoking buddies involved.  The more members, the better chance we have to get a bigger voice out there to protect our right to smoke cigars and enjoy the finer things in life.

  1. It is always good to bring this organization to light.

Maybe run a contest to sponsor a CRA member for the first year?

  2. We need a collective voice because the smoke Nazis are raping us every chance they get.

    Good post, today!
