Troop Support – Operation Ward 57

I’ve had a Troop Support page since the beginning of Cigar Command because I believe that freedom isn’t free, and it takes people that are willing to pay the price to keep us free. I’ve found another great service organization called Operation Ward 57 that helps to support our troops, the ones that truly bear the scars of their sacrifice.

Is this cigar related? Well, no…unless you think of our men and women in uniform as the conduit that keeps us free to smoke our cigars without outside threats. But, hell, it’s a good cause even if you don’t look at it from that perspective.

Here’s a little about Operation Ward 57:

Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) in Washington DC is the first stop for many of America’s returning wounded service members from Iraq and Afghanistan.  Known as “the amputee ward”, the orthopedic Ward 57 at WRAMC houses some of the most severely injured patients for weeks or even months. The painful sacrifice of losing one or more limbs is the new battle these service members and their families now fight.

Operation Ward 57 was started to have a direct way for individuals and companies to show their support and raise funds for these courageous men and women who have given so much.

So, click the pic at the top of the post, and buy a shirt.  You’ll be bringing hope and happiness to those who were harmed in the line of duty.
