Castro Resigns

Well, I’m sure everyone’s already heard the news of Fidel Castro saying that he will not accept another Presidential term due to his ailing health.  The stage is being set for the transfer of power to be transferred to Fidel’s brother, Raul, who would most likely continue to keep Cuba’s political and social agenda the same as that of Fidel’s.  According to the Associated Press, they reported according to those in Washington that ”the government said it had no plans to change U.S. policy or lift its embargo on Cuba.”

So, my friends, while one era ends in the Cuban world, a similar one seems to be beginning.  As far as Americans legally seeing a path to the ever-coveted Cuban cigars, well, it looks like it’s going to be awhile yet before you’ll see them lining the shelves of your local B&Ms.  Still, this is huge news.  So, sit back, light up, and watch as history unfolds before your eyes.
