Quick Time – Don Pepin Garcia Serie JJ Selectos
I’ve had this one resting in the humidor for about 4 months. I picked it up from Tinderbox.com and knowing that Pepin doesn’t age his cigars at all had to let it rest because I find that Pepin’s cigars sit better with me when they do. I knew this wasn’t the best specimen when I cut it and could see a loose, ragged roll, but I lit it anyway and was immediately hit with a spicy punch. This peppery spice soon slid smoothly into the background and let some coffee and birch woodiness take over. Very pleasant. I had some serious burn problems with this one and it required a few touch-ups to keep it going well, but this cigar produced so much smoke that it’s a smoke-ring blower’s dream. I like the Serie JJ from Pepin the most out of his regular Don Pepin Garcia line because it is medium to full flavor that’s not too overpowering like I find his blue and black labels. I smoked this one down as far as my lunch hour (okay…lunch hour and a half) would let me. I enjoyed it a lot despite the regular maintenance it required.

Thanks for the great review Ricky. I thoroughly enjoy the DPG Series JJ. Have you tried the Series JJ Maduro?
