Quick Time – EO 601 Guapito

This 4×32 cigar is the smallest of all EO 601s. But don’t let its size fool you because this cigar packs a punch. Coming from the red label Habano line, this cigar starts out by getting in your face. Intense spice strikes your palate immediately letting you know that it’s not to be trifled with. Such a small package with big flavor. And just what flavors, you ask? Wood and spice. And I must say that they go very well together in this.

This is not a complex cigar by any means. With its size it doesn’t have the time to develop into much as it’s a quick 20-30 minute smoke. One that I don’t mind having twice in a row if time allows. It produces plenty of smoke, burns wonderfully, and has a medium finish that doesn’t offend your tastebuds like so many others do. I happen to know that this is Eddie Ortega’s favorite out of all 601s too. He loves and smokes them all, but more often than not you’ll see him puffing away on one of these. They come in a box of 100 and at just a little over $2 a cigar it means a little bit of an investment upfront, but if you’ve had these, you probably already know it’s worth it. If you haven’t, you’ll come to know it.

  1. Sounds like a nice smoke for a shorty… I may have to see if I can get my hands on one.
