Quick Time – Padilla Miami 8/11 Robusto

Tonight I was able to relax on the porch with my book and this fantastic corojo wrapped robusto. Shimmering in the light, the wrapper was oily and smooth. It lit perfectly and easily. The draw was sublime and each puff produced a bounty of sweet, smooth smoke. Starting with a tangy spice and leather on my tongue, eventually a sweet coffee taste mixed in. This tangy sweetness derives from the criollo binder and filler and is definitely a flavor profile that I really, really like. It burned smooth and perfectly throughout; I let the ash grow to two inches before tapping it off lest I end up wearing it. Being a rather pricy stick, these don’t frequent my humidor much, but I can tell you that I’ll be getting a few more for those special days when I just want that tangy sweetness.

  1. Great review…
I’ve had several of these sent my way the past few months…perhaps I will light one up now. It sounds like a pretty smooth, full flavored smoke?
