So, I know it’s been quite quiet here lately, and I’m sorry about that. Busy, busy, you know? Anyway, I finally took some time to myself yesterday during lunch and treated myself to this cigar given to me by a good friend. I don’t normally visit these because of the price point; yes, I’m a cheap bastard. Get over it.Anyway, this cigar was beautiful in presentation, as you can see. Well made, it was solid and firm. Definitely no loose spots. It smelled of sweet cocoa when brought to the nose. The wrapper was pristine and was beginning to become a little oily. There was a little difficulty clipping it as it was really solid, but it drew decently, if a little tight. That’s unusual for a Padron.Pulling the smoke into the mouth, this was a cool and brilliantly tasty smoke. Sweetness, light coffee and mild pepper coated the tongue and maintained consistently throughout the cigar. The burn was absolutely perfect from light to nub. And for being a 46×4 1/2 cigar, it lasted well over an hour; which is unusual for me because I’m a pretty fast smoker. This was a medium body treat with a medium finish that left me wanting more.
If you’ve never had one, treat yourself. You won’t be dissappointed.

Perfect review! This is one of my ultimate go-to smokes. Not cheap, by any means, but it never leaves me sad I lit it. A fabulous burn, a unique and pointed Padron Anni flavor, and ridiculously gorgeous construction. These little buggers are the reason I consider myself a Padron guy.
Great review. Is that the smoke that I gifted you? I’m just as cheap as you. I have several in my humidor but have yet to try one.
@ rack04: Why yes it is, Justin. You really should try one.
@ Ricky: Not that it really matters but I think that was supposed to be a Maduro.
Found CigarCommand through Cigar Jack’s Cigar Blog. Saw that you had reviewed this cigar and thought I’d explore the rest of the site!!!
Looks great so far, looking forward to seeing all you have on here.
BTW…as an addendum to the previous comment…
I LOVE the padron maduro 2000′s…but I haven’t been very impressed with any of their higher end lines. GREAT construction and GREAT crips burn…but the flavor just doesn’t scratch my itch.
Will definitely smoke them if I get them, but don’t go out looking for them.
I love these little cigars, they are about as close to Cuban as you can get for the price. At a little over 8 bucks a stick they’re a steal!
